The Verandah Gallery was ‘born’ in 1992 when Anna Fleming decided to have an art exhibition on her verandah to help raise funds for her neighbours, the Emerald Hill Children’s Home and the Emerald Hill School for the Deaf. Then in 1998, Anna started producing cards, calendars etc depicting Zimbabwean Artists’ paintings. Whilst Verandah Gallery is not a formal ‘gallery’ for the rest of the year, you will always find a selection of unframed portfolio paintings on her verandah, including the VG products - cards, calendars, tea towels, wrapping paper designs, fridge magnets etc, all inspired by local art.
